CholestOff claims to lower blood cholesterol through natural processes and also reduce the risk of heart disease. Coupled with a good, low cholesterol diet and regular exercise, CholestOff promises to keep one healthy and lower the probability of heart disease.
Clinically proven to reduce LDL (Low-Density lipoprotein), the ingredients found in CholestOff support your healthy lifestyle. Its mechanism works on the principle of reducing cholesterol absorption from food, and promotes a healthy heart in this way. According to scientists, diets containing plant sterol/stanol esters could reduce the chances of coronary heart disease. CholestOff provides the body with 1.8 grams of plant sterols and stanols in a day, under normal dosage. To top it off, Nature Made has declared that this product is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, yeast, starch and gluten, to maintain a natural composition.
No known side effects of CholestOff have been documented, and it is considered a safe supplement. It contains polynutrients, extracted from plants, which prevent the body from absorbing excess cholesterol from meat, eggs, dairy and fish. CholestOff is to be taken twice daily (two tablets per dosage). It is recommended that caplets are taken 15-30 minutes prior to a meal, since it works on the concept of blocking absorption of cholesterol. Bottom line, it’s important to take the supplement before eating. It contains Reduclol, which is a proprietary ingredient containing sterols and stanols, and this aids in the blockage of excess cholesterol absorption.
Customer reviews of the product have been largely positive, where cholesterol has been observed to significantly (by 50 points in a particular case) reduce within three months of starting with CholestOff. An added advantage that it has over prescription drugs for cholesterol reduction is that, it has no side effects (such as nausea, joint inflammation etc). There is however a restriction on consumption by pregnant or lactating women and young children. The reasons for this are not very explicitly stated. It may be clarified that CholestOff is not claimed to be a cure for high cholesterol or heart disease, but merely a supporting supplement that requires a healthy diet and regular exercise for it to show effect. It is also of interest to note that it has not yet been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As far as affordability is concerned, this product is for the masses retailing at anywhere from $9.00 to $18.00 for a 2 week supply. Also, CholestOff should not be confused with a weight loss supplement as Nature Made has not claimed any effects on weight, with regards to this product.
