When it comes to choosing and sending greeting cards, the key to success lies in finding one which is personal to you whilst also matching the occasion and the recipient. Often, this can prove to be a difficult task, with many of the cards available in the shops being merely the same old thing.

Choosing greeting cards for people is something which should really be a total pleasure. After all, nine times out of ten it’s a chance for you to let someone that you care for know just how much they mean to you, or congratulate a friend or family member on a major milestone in their life. Sadly, however, the joy of the situation is reduced by the stress of finding exactly the right card. One time of the year when this is true even more than any other is Valentine’s Day. When you’re choosing Valentine’s Day cards the degree of risk involved depends, in part, upon the status of your relationship. If you’re in a long term relationship then you don’t want to make the mistake of choosing a card which looks insufficiently romantic and creates the impression that you’re merely going through the motions. If, on the other hand, you’re trying to convince somebody to embark upon a relationship with you then choosing exactly the right card could make all the difference, and knowing this just increases the pressure.
Something which should be fun and frivolous, then, like searching for valentine gift ideas, ends up becoming an ordeal, but one way of avoiding this ordeal is to create your own object using digital photograph files. Personalised greeting cards, for example, are going to easily trump anything that you might be able to buy in the shops, because the image on the front will be something which is directly relevant to either you or the person you’re sending the card to.
In the past, creating a card of this type might have meant printing the picture and sticking it to the front of a piece of folded cardboard, but digital photography has rendered this approach completely obsolete. Now, the digital image of your choice can be reprinted on top quality card using printing techniques which are more than a match for anything you could buy in a shop. You may wish to print valentine greeting cards celebrating a certain moment in your relationship, such as a first date or even your wedding day or, if you’re sending a card to somebody you hope to woo, perhaps you could use a picture of a picturesque setting which you’d like to invite them on a date to. No matter what the nature of the image you choose, the technique is the same. It’s simplicity itself to upload the image and then use the software to adapt aspects such as the size and shape of the card. Once you’ve made all of your choices – including any text you might have fashioned to charm the love of your life – the card will be produced to the highest possible standard.
It doesn’t end with just cards. The same technology can be applied to producing valentine gift idea, one off bespoke items such as photo books and canvas prints or smaller, cheekier treats like fridge magnets and key rings.
The next time you’re wading through rack after rack of greeting cards, searching vainly for something which doesn’t just blend in with everything else, than ask yourself if you couldn’t do better. If the answer is yes, then don’t just think it, take a few minutes and turn this great idea into an even better reality.
