Every Child’s Favorite Candy: Chocolates

Aarush’s Aunt landed up at Hyderabad to celebrate her nephew’s 5th birthday. She would be seeing him after a span of 5 years and knowing her nephews love for chocolates, was loaded with different bands of chocolates for him and the family. She couldn’t stop herself when she saw little Aarush at the airport. She bent and took out a chocolate bar from her bag. Aarush put out his little hand and took it. Everybody watched as the child peeled the wrapper off but the moment Aarush’s mother said” Aarush, share it with aunty”, he ran away “. Such is the love children have for chocolates.

The response is much the same with adults too. The king of candy, the word "chocolate" was adopted into the English language from the Spanish vocabulary. The history of how the word came into Spanish is less sure, and there are numerous challenging explanations of it. Possibly the most suitable explanation is that the word "chocolate" has come from Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs. Child specialists have it with them for their little patients, especially when they need to bribe them into taking an injection and teachers keep some with them to divert children crying uncontrollably. Infact, Scientific studies and research have found it out that chocolate really makes a child happy and helps young teens get out of depression.

Children’s academic scores at school have improved drastically when they’ve been given incentives of this sort. The first advantage that you acquire after eating a chocolate is that it changes your mood and makes you think optimistically. But while lots of parents say, a chocolate can make a child work hard for it, a group of parents feel otherwise. They feel it’s unwise to give children short term incentives. It makes them short- sighted and happy with the “now” feel rather than wait for something big.

This makes them impatient and pleasure loving for small things. Well, though millions of parents have seen an instant change of mood in their children after they have laid their hands on a candy bar not many parents encourage this because they classify it as a ‘temptation” which is quite likely to turn their children into addicts more than anything else. “Anything in excess can be harmful for them” said a parent. Director Tim Burton captured a child’s love for chocolates in his block buster “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” which was released in the year 2005. Based on the book by Ronald Dahl, the story was about a young boy named Charlie who won a tour to visit one of the most magnificent chocolate factories in the world, headed by the world's most cranked candy manufacturer.
