With its sandy beaches, safe seas, exotic fauna and flora, architectural monuments of colonial era, carnival like spirit of the people, charming eco- tourism spots, varied geographical terrains – Goa is one of the tourism hotspot of India.

The smallest state in India, Goa is situated in western Konkan Coast of India.
Although in tourism parlance, Goa India is closely related to beaches, there are other attractions to Goa as well, equally important. Goa in its eastern part includes Western Ghats. Western Ghats homes wide variety of fauna and flora. This fact is recognized by UNESCO which has declared it a bio-diversity spot – a region which is endowed with rich and diverse flora and fauna. There are a number of wildlife and bird sanctuaries which are treasure troves for both nature enthusiasts and ordinary tourists alike. A travel to the interiors will take you to many monuments of colonial grandeur still staying aloft by the sides of streets. Then, there are the eco-tourism spots which lets you rest in lap of nature and carnival like spirit of Goan people.
Goa Tourism for the moment, still is primarily about beaches. Goa, it is said homes the better beaches in the world. The prominent beaches of Goa are Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Sinquerim, Miramar in the North and Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Cavelossim and Palolem in the south. The seas are safe for swimming and there are lifeguards on duty round the clock. Tourists can with confidence swim and play with waves. The sandy beaches are inviting to lie in the sun with or without cover. Beaches provide for facilities for adventure sports like diving, paragliding, kite surfing, jet skiing and banana ride.
Goa, especially Western Ghats is endowed with rich and diverse fauna and flora. There are a number of wildlife and bird sanctuaries which are the attractions of nature lovers. Some of them are Bondla wildlife sanctuary, Molem wildlife sanctuary, Cotigao wildlife sanctuary, Madei wildlife sanctuary, Netravali wildlife sanctuary, Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary and Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.
Apart from the ordinary structures of Portuguese architecture, there are many churches of colonial grandeur. Some of them included in Goa Holiday Packages are Se Cathedral, Basilica of Bom Jesus (a UNESCO world heritage site), Church of Lady of Rosary, Chapel of St. Catherine, Church of Carmelites, Church of St. Cajetan, Chapel of St. Francis Xavier etc. In addition to that there are amazing temples and forts, some with Portuguese architectural influence and some not. More gorgeous of temples are Shree Bhagavati Temple, Brahma Temple, Shree Chandranath Temple, Datta Mandir, Shree Gopal Ganapathi Temple, Kamakshi Saunsthan Shiroda, Madanant Temple and Navdurga Saunsthan. More famous of forts are Aguada Fort, Cabo De Rama Fort, Chapora Fort, Mormuagao Fort and Tiracol Fort.
The carnival like spirit of Goan people weaves its magic around everyone pretty soon. There are festivities going on every now and then in every nook and corner and you will feel like participating in it.
There are some spice plantations which have opened their doors to tourists receiving them with typical Goan reception. Coming under the category of eco-tourism, you can spend some time in the embrace of nature if you accept the invitation.
There are some waterfalls to be witnessed in Goa. Two of the prominent are Arvalem waterfalls and Dudhsagar waterfalls.
