Tenerife is one of the seven islands that make up the Canary Islands. The group of islands are located 71 miles off the coast of north-west Africa, and because of their location they are blessed with warm weather all year round.

The islands also boast over 930 miles of coastline. Combine this with the year round sunshine and it"s no surprise that the Canary Islands remain such a popular tourist destination.

Tenerife is easily accessible from the UK, with flights taking around four hours from practically every UK airport. There are also plenty of budget airline companies offering frequent cheap flights to the island.

Out of all the Canary Islands, Tenerife is one of the most energetic and lively. It has a bustling nightlife that it makes an ideal choice for the younger traveller. There are also a number of quieter retreats for couples and families to enjoy. The island has something to offer everyone, but choose your resort carefully as you could find yourself in a part of the island where the nightlife and atmosphere do not suit your tastes.

There is plenty to see and do on the island and as its volcanic there are some striking landscapes to explore.

One of the more popular resorts on the island is the resort Playa de las Americas. Favoured particularly by the British holidaymaker, this resort is renowned for its energetic nightlife, golden beaches and excellent water sports facilities. There is no shortage of bars and discos to explore and there is a huge choice of restaurants to choose from.

Tenerife is a popular year round destination, and with prices for flights being so reasonably priced there really is no better time to explore this wonderful island.
