Do not pass adverse remarks on others
Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.
In all the religious books, we have been advised that we should not pass adverse remarks on he work and conduct of others and if at all we want to tell others something, first of all we should have a look on ourselves and if the same mistakes or wrongs are available in ourselves, then we should try to correct those mistakes first and only then we shall be having an occasion to comment upon the work and conduct of others. It is an old saying that we should have a regular inspection of ourselves and we should remain on look to find out mistakes in us and then we should try to correct those mistakes and this process should continue till we are alive because to err is human and we would never be stopping committing mistakes.
The people who have started correcting themselves, must take up the following points and these points may be re-examined daily:-
(1) We should examine daily hat we are hale and healthy and there is nothing wrong in our body today.
(2) We must examine that we are maintaining punctuality.
(3) We must examine that we are doing justice with our work and we are trying to gain more and more proficiency in that work.
(4) We must examine that we are having reasonable qualifications and if need be, we must gain more so that we could be a fit person in the profession, trade, calling and employment and we are not feeling inferiority complex when we are facing others who are in the same line.
(5) We must examine that we are maintaining a good reputation and if something is wrong with us, we must try to remove those bad points in our life.
(6) We must examine that we are having good relations with all in the family, with all in our neighbourhood, with all in the society around us and especially we should have good relations with those who are our colleagues and working with us at our work place.
(7) We should ensure that we are wearing clothes which are suitable to us as per our age, our health, our status in the society around us and we are looking good when we are at our work place.
(8) We must ensure that we are very careful while dealing with others because what we say or what we do shall remain in the heart of the man with whom we are talking, with whom we are dealing.
(9) We must keep in our mind that if we are taking help from others in our life, then we should be ready to afford help to others, when they are in need of help from our side.
(10) We must ensure that we are reading news papers, magazines, listening to the radio and we are having a look on the TV set maintained at our house so that we should be up to date with the time in which we are living. And we should see that we are able to have talks and discussions with others on the topics of today.
(11) We must see that others are having good view of us and for that purpose we shall be examining behaviour of others with us because in most of the cases they shall be reacting what we had done with them.
(11) We must ensure that we are neat and clean and others shall not be facing difficulties when they are coming near to us.
(12) We must try to conceal all our sadness and we should meet others with a smiling and happy face because others are not interested to listen our tales of sadness and bad days.
(13) Try to avoid begging help from others and such a course should be the last resort.
(14) Be truthful and avoid speaking lies because the others are the best examiners and we would be able to correct ourselves and shall be improving on ourselves.
(15) We should have a look on our wishes and on our desires which are call from the nature and which are prompting us to something or the other and fulfill those wishes and desired.
(16) In stead of finding faults with others, we should consume more time on our own weaknesses and we should put in more time, energy and efforts to correct ourselves.
These are some of the points on which we should concentrate and we should see that we are making improvements and this process should continue till we are alive because a man cannot become complete and he remains halfway in spite of all his efforts. That is the reason that an introspection daily is most necessary. What is not good in others and we have observed, instead of correcting others, we should have an introspection and if those weaknesses are available in us, we should try to remove those weaknesses in us and must improve.
