One of the desires of every parent is to give everything to their babies. This phenomenon has peaked up recently as people are now getting so engrossed in their job that they find it extremely difficult to take time off for their babies. It is this guilt feeling that forces the parents to give their all to their babies so as to compensate for the time that they cannot spare for them. However, they would do well to understand that baby gifts, if purchased with little bit of care would actually go a long way in helping the babies learn some useful things at a very early stage in their lives.
A few examples can actually go a long way in explaining the above mentioned point. A gift of a ball with a, b, c engraved on it can be a very good ploy to help a baby learn alphabets. Similar strategy can be utilised to introduce him to digits. In a similar fashion a book with the pictures of fruits, vegetables etc. can be a very good way of helping kids learn about such wonderful objects.
Taking the issue further it can be said that a cassette or CD of nursery rhymes can also be a very good gift for a baby and would actually go a long way in helping him learn rhymes at a very early stage in his life. However, while purchasing baby gifts it should be kept in mind that since these gifts are being purchased for babies security should be the prime concern. It is for this very reason that toys made of glass or the one"s with rough edges is not considered to be safe enough for babies.
Since it is always nice to drill a good habit early on in one"s life the role played by baby gifts can never be overlooked.
