Become a selfish person

In all the religious books we have been guided that we should help others who are in need of help. This is good and at the same time we have been advised that charity begins at home and therefore, it is our duty to see that the people at our own house must be looked after first and if we can spare time, energy, money, only then we should help others who are in need of help. The people out of our own house shall be raising so many demands before us and they shall also be explaining before us their helplessness, but if we go deep we shall find that all they say was not correct and they are just creating all these situations before us so that we may offer them help. But the people at our own house are close to us and we know what are their defficulties and what are their demands. Therefore, it is our duty to have an eye on our own people and must ensure that we are supporting them and maintaining them because they have joined our family and it is our first duty to maintain them.
We have noticed that even our own parents could not do for us what we wished and after the departure of our parents, we have been depending upon our friends and on our state, but they too failed because our friends were having their own difficulties and the state had been showing shortage of funds and the people sitting on seats of power were not committed to help us. That is the reason, most of the people in India are illiterate, poor, unemployed, beggars, wearing rags, are not earning properly and that is the reason they are not having proper accommodation to live in and they are just living a life and completeting the tenure given by God. They are not living a life worth living.
Had the people of India been dependant upon themselves, they could have achieved something during these six decades. But they had been waiting for help from the government side and that is the reason they are still standing there from where they started in 1947. The constitution and other pronouncements could not better their position and they are still living in the same situations where the British left them at the time of independence.
The people of India must realise that they shall have to make their own efforts and only then they shall be going ahead. Such people are available in all the countries and therefore, they must have an introspection and they must note down their education, training, job, work, income, accommodation, medical treatment, savings for old age and for the rainy days and they must ensure that they are looking after their children well and they shall not be suffering in the same in which they are suffering. We should concentrate upon ourselves and only then we shall be going ahead. We should take all the members with us and only then we shall be able to go ahead. Dependency must be avoided. If we go on these paths, even God shall have to come down and shall have to help us. Our efforts shall not go waste because we should rememaber that that God helps those who help themselves and work is worship are the old sayings. If at all we believe in the existence of God we should seek His help recalling the old saying, God helps those who help themselves. The people who are dependant upon others are just beggars and nothing more.
