Occams razor, attributed to Franciscan friar William of Ockham, basically states that "All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best." In other words, when multiple competing theories are equal in other respects, the principle recommends selecting the theory that introduces the fewest assumptions and postulates. But how does the Heisenberg uncertainty principle factor in?
So much of our world is now focusing on physics, astronomy, and cosmology, and rightfully so. They say there"s a black hole on the horizon!
In quantum physics, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle says that locating a particle in a small region of space makes the momentum of the particle uncertain; and conversely, that measuring the momentum of a particle precisely makes the position uncertain. In quantum mechanics, the position and momentum of particles do not have precise values, but have a probability distribution. There are no states in which a particle has both a definite position and a definite momentum. The narrower the probability distribution is in position, the wider it is in momentum.
In otehr words, as we"ve discovered the smaller and smaller yet again particles we"re discovering that they don"t operate in a neat and tidy universe as we once thought. It"s something akin to what you see is NOT what you get. But on the other hand we can alter a thing by thinking about it. Listen to the music!
Thought and matter alter one another, and that"s driving scientists batty!
We can change whatever may be coming our way between now and December 21, 2012 by THINKING about it and awakening our consciousness to various theories that are being applied and attributed to the 2012 phenomena. We need to wake up the the ZEITGEIST (the spirit of the times). We can no longer live as we have, nor aw we are. It"s time for a new season, a new sun, and new underworld or whatever past and ancient cultures have called the COMING of 2012.
Are you THINKING? -)
