I started out working hard and wrong...
Hard work alone isn"t enough, and what the successful, in this industry, try and tell you... it"s an indicator that your doing things all wrong.
I"ll explain more in a bit, but first I"ll start with what I discovered.
We"ve all seen the ads "I"ve made a gazillion dollars while I was napping, washing my car, playing golf, watching Youtube , tickling my kids, etc. etc. etc.".
Most of these ads are fluff. They"ve been posted by average Joe"s and Jane"s, trying to make a buck. They exaggerate tales of Internet fantasy, in hopes of making a sale. Like the song by Seether "Fake it".
I don"t agree with, or condone what they are doing, but I can understand why they do it.
I"ll share with you, in a minute, why I left a program that made me $1,398. part time in 11 days. The complete opposite of the "fake it" approach.
Back to the crazed marketers. These marketers are doing the same things over and over again. Heh , they"ve lost their ,free ad posting, minds. One simple change would increase their sales. If they just let the world know their true value.
I know, because I waded through hundreds of them daily. I was looking for the true gazillion earners. Not just any gazillion earner, but one I could relate to. Yes, I contacted, called, and wrote literally hundreds. I have the $700 cell phone bill to prove it. Mental note... upgrade Verizon wireless plan.
I wasn"t seeking a mentor because I wasn"t successful.
I had already turned a profit online . I wanted to have my Harley, and I wanted to have gas in it too! My business was like sitting there on the Harley, but no gas in the tank. I was simply in the wrong program, because I wanted residual income. I wanted to ride my motorcycle. I wanted freedom.
I was working hard and wrong...
I wanted to build a pipeline to feed my thirsty village (a.k.a. Wife and Children) not carry buckets. The program I was promoting only worked while I promoted it. If I stopped working, so did my business... I had a job, not an effective business. There wasn"t enough leverage. I could put the same effort into another program, reap higher rewards, and residual income. The residual income was the key.
Same effort... better results, more leverage.
I wanted freedom.I took the advice of Henry Ford, and called those who had the answer. I picked up the phone and made a call to those who knew. That wasn"t the easiest thing to do, let alone convince the other party to accept my offers.
This allowed me to step over the learning curve, and actually gave me leverage. I was able to approach and negotiate into higher priced systems, for free. I could write an e-book about that.
I have a five star binder full of "how to"s and offers". Just do some brain storming, you"d be surprised what pops up. I carefully chose what systems I wanted to market. I wanted to place myself into a favorable economic business. I also wanted a business, that"s product I would buy regardless. I wanted a valuable sought after product. I"ll give you an example.
Let"s look back in time, to California"s gold rush. A time when the 49 er"s were mining and some were striking it rich.
Now the businesses that made the most, sold the picks and shovels. That"s a great example of setting yourself up for favorable economics. Now, I took it a step further, and got a business that would cater to the miners, when they needed a break. Two businesses, one in the thick of it, and one for leisure.
I chose a business for it"s Internet marketing tools, and a business for vacations. Both give residual income, and both have products that I would use regardless. They actually support one another. This goes deeper into tax structure and business entity, but I"ll save that for an additional article. They compliment each other.
What this 32 year young man has learned. Business isn"t about the numbers, business is about people. If the universe has no idea you exist, how can it reward you? You have to demolish all negative barriers, and let your value be seen. If you don"t have value to share, you can always improve that. It"s only a matter of choice.
I gave up television over nine years ago.I now watch less than an hour a week. I did this so I could build value. I took the time to invest in myself, before I could help others. There has been a direct connection. The more value I add the more value I receive.
I hope that little nugget helps you, as much as it has me.
