With just six original episodes left for Smallville to air as a result of the ongoing writers" strike, The CW has released its schedule of broadcast for the remainder of this, the series" seventh season. According to the network, it will show the first three of the remaining six original installments beginning Thursday, January 31. They will then go on repeats from February 21 through to March 20, when the fourth original installment goes on the air. Here"s a breakdown of what"s in store for the duration of season 7:
Episode 7.10 entitled "Persona" is set to air January 31. Highlight of this installment is the scheduled return of the real Clark Kent, who was last seen frozen in a block of ice inside the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Bizarro will remain in good stead with Lana even as he enlists Brainiac"s help to keep portraying Clark forever. Despite his efforts though, a keen and vigilant Chloe notices that Clark doesn"t seem himself lately.
Episode 7.11 called "Siren" is slated for a February 7 broadcast. DC Comics persona, Black Canary, makes her debut in Smallville. Host of a conservative radio talk show, she is first seen as Lex Luthor"s vigilante. One of her tasks is to capture another hero, the Green Arrow, which makes for an interesting encounter between the two.
Episode 7.12 dubbed "Fracture" is scheduled to premiere on February 14, with a still memory-challenged Kara returning to the picture as Linda, after Linda Lee Danvers from the comic books. Aside from Kara aka Linda, "Fracture" will also focus heavily on Lex, who is shot in this episode, but survives nonetheless.
Episode 7.13 called "Hero" is set to go on the air come March 20 with Pete Ross back in Smallville for the first time since the third season. Pete is back in style, complete with the ability to stretch, thanks to a meteor-laced chewing gum. His return won"t be altogether joyful once he learns that Chloe, Lionel and Lana are now all privy to Clark "s secret.
Episode 7.14 known as "Traveler" is slated for March 27 featuring guest star Aaron Douglas as a nutcase named Pierce, who is so frightened of aliens that it drives him to abduct Clark and keep him in a specially built dungeon. The women of Smallville band together as Kara, Chloe and Lana team up in order to rescue our resident hero.
Finally, episode 7.15 called "Veritas" still awaits its broadcast date. It features Jane Seymour returning as Genevieve Teague in a special flashback that also includes Robert Queen, Oliver Queen, Patricia Swann and younger versions of Jason Teague. The episode also finds Brainiac coming back as well as Jimmy and Chloe collaborating on a story. Clark and Lana remain a pair despite the problems caused by the Bizarro debacle. If the writers" strike continues, this installment is likely to serve as this season"s finale offering.
