» Super Tuesday II

Talk about deja-vu! The morning after the February Super Tuesday, Hillary Clinton was hailed as the winner. She had won the big states. She won New York. She won California. She won New Jersey. But guess what, brack Obama came away with more pledged delegates than she did and he won twice as many states as she did. While there were only four states in Super Tuesday II, it appears we have the same scenario.

Hillary won the big states of Ohio and Texas, and she won Rhode Island leaving Barack stopped in his tracks winning only Vermont (13 victories in a row). But after the dust has settled Barack Obama won more delegates from texas than she did and he still have more delegates than Hillary.

And speaking on the Early Show, Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the democratic nomination. "We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.

Thanks to the Texas two step we still don"t know the exact delegate count. Stay tuned!

Obama came into the day with momentum on his side. He had 1,378 pledged delegates and superdelegates to Clinton"s 1,269. And there are estimates all over the place. The highest total has Obama with 1,710 and Clinton with 1,655. What we do know for sure is that Obama leads in every delegate count. We also know that like the first Super Tuesday, Hillary got the attention but Obama got the trophy.

Now, it"s on to Wymoing and Mississippi in the next seven days! And of course a lot of arm bending of the super delegates. The pressure that is going to be on them in the next few weeks will be immense indeed.
