3 “Always” of Commercial Printing

Sometimes, it is not enough just to know what you should not do; you should also know what you should do.
Whenever there are things that you should never do, there are always corresponding contrasts which, in this case, are the things that you should always do. Always have a back-up plan. There are a lot of good reasons why “Plan B” should always be in the vocabulary of a commercial printing customer, but the main reason is that if things could go wrong, they will. People should always think that Murphy’s Law has a grain of truth to it and work towards being prepared for any eventualities. Depending on your need, you should have a back-up commercial printer, breathing room for your deadlines, or back-up options for your prints. For example, you could set the deadline for delivery at least a week before you actually need the prints so that you would not encounter difficulties in case delays with the printing and deliveries happen.

Always ask questions. The cardinal rule in commercial printing is that if you do not know something, work towards understanding it. And what better way to understand something than to ask questions and to get them answered. You could approach a lot of different people for this, so it is important that you know the right persons to ask, because it is grossly counterproductive to ask someone who knows just as much about you. A sure bet would be to ask your commercial printing company directly, but make sure that you do not come across as someone to take advantage of or someone excessively nosy.

Always, at all times, constantly, forever, relentlessly, and any other synonym you could think of. Whatever word you choose, just remember to keep all of the above things in your mind at all times so that you can get the most out of your Dallas printer and DFW printer.
