Automated Dynamics is a world leader in the manufacture of advanced composite structures and high performance composite processing equipment. The business was established in 1984 as an automation company and has been practicing in the high performance composites industry for over twenty years. There are two business groups within Automated Dynamics: Engineered Composite Structures and Automation for Composites. We operate five, AFP & ATL machines available for demonstration, prototyping, and production at our 30,000 sq. ft. (2800 sq. m) facility in Schenectady, NY. Automated Dynamics has contracts in many industries including aerospace, heavy industries, wind energy, and defense. Within this range of industries, we have taken many Research and Development programs to the production level and have brought automation to existing labor intensive production applications. Our R&D clients are as important a component to our business as our qualified, production aerospace customers. Our proprietary, simple, user friendly machine systems, software, and process technologies are applicable to all clients. Automated Fiber Placement is best fit for complex part geometries, detailed pad-ups and ply edges, and steered fiber applications.

Automated Dynamics manufactures and designs composites in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, including cylinders, cones, box beams, T's I-beams, triangles, coils, flat laminates, ovals and complex geometries up to 40 feet long with ODs from 0.020 inches to 60 inches. Our composite structures are most suited when solutions are needed to replace metal, reduce weight, isolate electronics, or offer a high level corrosion resistance. Composite production processes include fiber placement, filament winding, thermoforming, compression molding, autoclave and hand lay-up enabling it to manufacture a wide range in of thermoplastic and thermoset composite structures in the most cost effective manner possible. Advanced Thermoplastic Fiber Placement is our proprietary, patented technology which uses uni-directional pre-preg material (continuous fiber reinforcing in thermoplastic resin matrix) with high heat and pressure to consolidate the structure 'on the fly' (in-situ) or as it is manufactured.
