Students, who are aspiring to study management in the MBA colleges spread out across the country, appear for different entrance exams. For them, various colleges are there which could be accessed with ranks in the entrance exams. Both country wide and state level exams are conducted regularly every year, providing the students an opportunity to find their college of calling. Even, they are allowed to choose the courses of their choice in these colleges depending on which students decide the colleges also.

For the hundreds and thousands of students appearing in the entrance exams every year, the CAT exam is considered to be the most important as well as prestigious. This is because it is through the CAT exams that there is an entry into the most prestigious colleges of Indian Institutes of Management. For those who are not able to score high ranks, the hope is provided by the CAT colleges which admit students with their percentile in the CAT exams. The basic advantage that the students get from these colleges is the opportunity to study in some of the best institutes which wouldn’t have been possible, had the tests been conducted by the individual colleges. With the CAT and MAT colleges spread all over the country, it is easy for the students to appear in the entrance exams in many centres across the country. This is different from the individual state colleges for which students are sometimes required to reach the state itself for the exam centres.

CET exam is also conducted in different parts of the country but each state has its own CET exam where students are required to select the streams in which they would be appearing such as engineering, medical, pharmacy, architecture besides the management courses.
