Description About Tuna Spreader Bars

Fishing is all about challenging yourself and pushing the envelope and not to forget the environment. Tuna fish has fatty acids that are more useful for patients with heart diseases and it is also considered as one of the most famous species in the world. Tuna fishing includes both exciting and relaxing, the relaxing part is casting a baited hook in to the water and the exciting part is when the fish takes the bait. Generally, the spreader bars act as bait for the fish to surface. These bars will attract the fishes that are on the surface. They are spread in to some geometrical positions and in the fish catching mode the hook is attached to the last skirt on the centerline of the spreader bar. Leader material between 18 and 24 inches in length is used for rigging the hook under the stinger bait. The longer leader sets the stinger bait apart from the skirts on the bar. A single spreader can imitate minimum of twenty and more bait fish. A perfect spreader bar should be able to handle five lines of twenty lures or baits regardless of the weight.

There are various designs available and these bars have different number of plastic baits, hollow squids, squirting squids and so on. Basically, it creates an illusion that a number of baitfish is spread on the surface and the fish get attracted to it. The perfect time to catch a tuna is before sunrise and sunset till dark because they eat early morning till the dark is there. There is no fixed bait that is used for fishing tuna. The bait has to be changed daily and so you take tuna spreader bars in different attractive colors. For fishing big sized tuna then you must use different colors Tuna train, lures, multiple sized ballyhoo rigged teaser.

The things that should keep in mind while fishing tuna are: Don’t touch the bait or line with bare hands, sterilize all leaders with alcohol, use gloves when baiting your hook, look for whales because tuna likes whale, don’t fish on the full moon night, give the fish time to bust if caught and fish in areas for tuna.
