Filter Fabrics are the media for filtration process in the industries. Filtration stuff is a soft delicate, and different colored cloth which is utilized in the plant for filtering.

Filter Fabrics are the media for filtration process in the industries. Filtration stuff is a soft delicate, and different colored cloth which is utilized in the plant for filtering. These are divided in the two categories. Woven and non woven.

1- Non Woven: - Non Woven fabric is manufactured as sheet or web structure. Filter fabrics of this form of cloth are bonded collectively by mechanically, thermally or chemically. These are flat, porous and as in the form of sheet. Non woven fabric are of limited life, single-use fabric or a very durable fabric. Non woven fabric provide special functionality for instance absorbent, liquid repellent, resilient, stretch, softness, strength, frame retardant, washable, cushioning, filtering, bacterial barrier and sterility. These attributes are often combined to create fabric desirable for individual jobs, during achieving a good balance between product use-life and its cost. They can be similar as woven fabric in its texture and strength and can be bulky as the thickest padding. They present a large range of items of various qualities in combination with other materials. They are used alone or as component of apparel products, home furnishing commodities, health care items, engineering items, industrial products and consumer products.

Usage of Non Woven Fabrics:-

1-It can be applied as disposable nappies.
2-It may be utilized as sanitary napkins and tampons.
3-It is usually utilized as sterile wraps, caps, gowns, masks and drippings
4-It is utilized in medical area. For instance surgical gowns, surgical equipments etc.
5-It may be utilized as household and personal wipes.
6-It is usually utilized as laundry aids for example fabric dryer-sheet
7-It may be utilized as apparel interlining.
8-It may be utilized as carpeting and upholstery fabrics, padding and backing.
9-It is usually applied as wall covering in building construction.
