2011 is will be the most exciting year for the bike enthusiasts. About all the motorcycles manufacturers in India are expected to launch motorcycles in varied engines. With an amazing sale of 9 million 2-wheelers sold in our country every year, we can’t just expect 3-4 new launches, but more than 10 latest bikes in 2011. Here is just a fine preview of expected bike models to be offered in 2011. The price and date of launch might vary as it depends on the motorcycle manufacturer.

Ducati is set to launch its two models in India by January 2011-848 Evo and 1198- SP. Besides this Diavel, the different looking Ducati is expected to launch by the month of April 2011, at prices of Rs.25 lakhs. Aprilia, famous Italian bike makers and the world’s No.4 motorcycle maker, is planning to open a showroom in India with Piaggio’s network. The Aprilia RSV4 factory superbike could be the first Aprilia bike to be sold in India .The Aprilia RSV4 will be powered by a V4 engine of 999.6 cc. BMW Motorrad will sell its motorcycles in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The company is about to launch its two models in India- BMW R1200 GS and The S1000 RR in March 2011, HMSI has started booking of the Honda CBR 250R that is to be launched in April in India.

The booking amount is Rs. 5,000 and the bike will be available in two models, standard and ABS. Also, Mahindra has made an entry into the bike segment with the 300 cc Mojo bike launched earlier this month. At Rs. 1.75 lakhs, the Mojo is an amazing option for performance enthusiasts. The Yamaha R15 is powered by a 149.8 cc engine that is set to be launched in Jan 2011 at an estimated price of Rs.1.10 lakhs.

Yamaha is ready to launch its FZ250 with 250 cc engine. If Yamaha launches this bike in India with an attractive cost of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.5 lakhs, then Karizma and Pulsar 220 will be in serious trouble. The bike is set to be launched in mid 2011. Also, TVS introduced the Apache 180 RTR ABS at the Delhi Auto- Expo in 2010.The safer Apache is expected to surface on the Indians showrooms by Feb 2011 and also, the most awaited KTM - Duke 125 is set to launch in March 2011. The bike will be manufactured in India to keep costs down.
