The first phase of development of the English grammar began in the beginning of the 16th century. William Bullokar wrote and published a book entitled "pamphlet for grammar" in 1586. Thereafter, William Lilly wrote a book "Rudimenta Grammatices', which was published in 1534. These two books were the early pioneers of grammar and the modern grammar emerged from them.

You must have studied English for several years, but when it comes to proving your skills in English grammar then you are lost. Grammar needs practice and one should start feeling the language if you have to succeed it. You can speak English, watch English movies, engage in conversations but still you need a lot of practice to say things in correct grammar.
This article explains some tips to improve your English grammar and you need to apply these skills when talking to people because these tactics are necessary if you want to improve your speaking skills. There are several common mistakes which we commit while speaking or writing in English but we never know about these. You should not get discouraged when starting with a basic grammar book. You should start by learning vocabulary and try to make sentences of your own. Try to memorize word meanings, rules of grammar etc. If you have a liking for English novels then this would probably the best option available. English novels can go a long way in improving your English skills. You should read the novel and try to write a summary of your own. This way, your vocabulary would be improved.
If you are already at the advanced level then you can participate in some casual with like minded people. You should try to speak in proper English as much as possible. You should devote some time to read advanced grammar books which can improve your basic grammar skills. Once you find the right level of books, begin to read regularly. It is best recommended reading at least twenty minutes a day. Give special attention to pronunciation and fluency Choose harder books in English and improve your skills.
