Sure, it can be cold inside of hockey rinks and the Verizon Center is no exception, although the air conditioning is noticeably less aggressive than in other NHL cities. However, the chilly temperature is no reason to avoid drinking a fresh brew. With 82 games being played in a season on the Washington Capitals schedule, there are plenty of opportunities to imbibe some sudsy beverages.
One great thing about the Verizon Center is that it has quite a nice beer selection. Most stadiums and rinks have only the most basic domestic options such as Budweiser and Miller Lite but the Verizon Center will hook you up with a variety of import and craft beers. Some selections from around the world include Guinness, Bass, Blue Moon, Czechvar, and Dos Equis, all of which are available on tap. If craft beer is more your thing try the Red Hook IPA, Dominion Ale, or Starr Hill.
The Verizon Center does a great job of updating their beer list so expect to see some variation and changes in selection when you hit up a game next year during the Washington Capitals 2011 schedule.
For hockey fans that live in different cities than their favorite teams or even for the constant traveler, NHL has created the wonderful GameCenter subscription service that allows online streaming of out-of-market games in near-HD. Now, NHL has partnered its GameCenter service with Sony and the PlayStation 3 with application that allows for viewing of GameCenter on a television from the comfort of a couch.
Fans who want to catch every game on the Washington Capitals schedule can now do so right on their high definition televisions and are no longer restricted to viewing on their computers. The GameCenter application costs $9.99 in the PlayStation Store and requires only a minute to link with the online account.
In addition to streaming games live, GameCenter also allows for streaming of any game throughout the past two seasons. This means that next year during the Washington Capitals 2011 schedule of games users will be able to still watch all of the games from the Washington Capitals 2010 schedule if they want to. In the PS3 application it is also possible to view player statistics, team standings, and much more.
