Every move has its different aspects. Some are more common then others. It is basically a simple procedure to move a house. Things are boxed and carried out to the truck or van. Furniture is bundled up and removed to the truck or van. At the new location they are unloaded into the new home or building.

But there are other considerations when a company is moving you. And a Professional removal company will be able to handle them all.

Some of the additional services a Professional removal company may encounter are extra delivery or pick up. Generally a mover will allow one free pick up and one free delivery which are included within your rates that you pay for the move. If that mover has to make additional stops to pick up your belongings then he may charge extra for this service. What the charges will be depend the distance they have to go to get to the goods and the weight of the goods. They will also charge if they have to make a stop at a storage facility along their route to pick up some of your goods.

Another service a Professional removal company may charge for is loading and carrying bulky items. Bulky items are generally items that are light for the amount of space they occupy in the movers truck. Basically to cover the cost of the lost space that can’t be packed with other goods you will be charged a bulky article charge. Sometimes a weight additive based on the length of the article will be added to the net weight of your shipment. They are going to charge you extra for shipping that boat or spa or camper in their truck.

If they have to use an elevator or lift or stairs to complete the pick up or delivery of your goods they will make an additional charge. This will be computed based on where the elevator or lift is in relationship to your final destination. On the number of flights of stair and whether they are inside or outside steps. They will also charge an excess charge if they have to park so many feet away from your location to pick up or deliver. They generally allow a reasonable amount of yardage before they charge for this.

If carpet has to be removed before they can pick up or deliver your goods they may charge an additional amount for this service. Generally this is an hourly charge.

Sometimes, a moving company may have stated work hours where they move your goods for the normal moving charge. If you request that they perform their services before a certain time or after a certain time they may impose an overtime charge to the normal hourly charge. This might also apply to a weekend move. Or it could be an assessed charge if they have to wait for you for a certain period of time.

They will inform you of all of these additional charges.
