Importance of Employee Verification

If as an employer one seems to sense something wrong with an applicant’s resume or there is something too good about a candidate then one can do employee verification.
An applicant can be obligated to lie due to various reasons. This can also include reasons such as being laid off by previous organization for reasons varying from immoral conduct or behavior or a theft. Candidates because of certain reasons may not be willing to disclose these facts and may lie on certain grounds.
It is surveyed and found that up to 45% of resumes contain false and rigged information. As an employer, it becomes his duty that the person he is going to hire is the same person in the resume. An employer can verify about educational and work experience related information given by employee.Candidates may sometimes give abrupt answers for questions related to job change. These reasons are good enough to be a reason to check a person’s loyalty and integrity. However, previous employers may not come forward for help due to certain legal implications, so it becomes the duty of the current employer to find out the truth behind the matter.

A candidate’s expertise, skills and experience to handle a post can be verified by checking his performance throughout his training period. It can certainly lead to wastage of time, energy and resources and can even cause a lot of inconvenience to other concerned people.

Employee verification can be done either through pre appointment approach or through post appointment approach. In pre appointment approach, an employee can be given training for a week or so and if his performance during training comes clear, he can be declared appointed. While a post appointment verification can be done only for the employees who are already working in the organization. This is also important to get a timely and detailed report of employee’s performance and dedication towards the job as people might cheat on the company after certain duration of time.

Employee verification can be done for people working from their homes and offices so as to avoid any unpleasant incidence from happening.Employee’s history verification activity is an important requisite for the organization as it can help in detecting potential problems before they arise which can save a lot of time and resources of the company.
