Graduation is the act of receiving an academic degree where the students become Graduates. The date of graduation is often called degree day. After degree completion, graduates are usually referred to as Graduates.

A grad ed college is a college that awards advanced academic degrees with the general requirement that students must have earned during a previous undergraduate degree. Those who attend grad ed college are called graduate students. Attending colleges provide students with the knowledge and experience they are unable to receive from a secondary education. Degrees awarded to graduate students include doctoral, master’s degrees, and other postgraduate qualifications such as professional degrees and graduate certificates. Public benefits of attending college include increased tax revenues, increased consumption, increased workforce flexibility, greater workplace productivity and decreased reliance on government financial support. However, the primary aim of Graduate program is to develop scholars who are competent and caring, committed to a spirit of learning and community services. To realize this goal, learning experiences are centered around three knowledge domains i.e. Professional competencies and skills, Professional values and Dispositions and Reflective practice. A variety of classroom approaches, independent projects and field works are integral components. It is well known that those colleges which have the most selective admissions criteria tend to have the highest graduation rates.
Graduate education teaches students how to think critically thus prepares them to deal with and find solutions to problems in the future. The importance of college education is accentuated because of the opportunity to gain valuable resources during their tenure. The more connections which are collected during their college career, the more options one will have when one begins a job search. However, importance of college education does not end with job search, as it provides for greater promotional opportunity in the future. Thus graduation education pays off in a huge way in the years to come and is essential for maintaining a vibrant economy and healthy communities, especially in the face of increasing global competitions. The only way to move beyond the status quo is by embracing new ideas, engaging in research to discover new knowledge and new ways of doing things.
