The Brockway Carpets workforce is made up of generations of families whose parents and grandparents also worked for Brockway Carpets and therefore are an experienced workforce who combine real craftsmanship with the latest environmentally-aware technology and the finest raw materials to create innovative, beautiful, on-trend and desirable floor coverings.
All Brockway carpets are at least 80% pure new wool, which gives a luxurious, high quality product that will enhance any home. Brockway Carpets extensive ranges include tufted and loop carpets, with a wide choice of stunning colours, designs and textures. Brockway showcased their new Designer Collection at the leading trade show for the flooring industry in Hannover, Germany in January of this year, our favourite of which is the ‘Gelato’ range with their beautiful creamy ice cream inspired colours with names like Mocha and Sorbet.
Brockway Carpets are also committed to sustainable production and choose their raw materials with care. Take the Lakeland Herdwick sheep for example. Over recent years the number of Herdwicks on the fells in the Lake District has plummeted, as farmers have found it impossible to make a decent living selling their meat and wool. Another blow to Britain’s hardiest hillsheep has been a change in the subsidy scheme, whereby farmers are now paid according to the land they own rather than the number of livestock, so many have sold their flocks, but thanks to manufacturers such as Brockway Carpets who in their commitment to sustainable production, have their own Lakeland Herdwick and Shetland carpet ranges, and thus play an important role in helping sustain traditional farming communities which also in turn assists the preservation of the beautiful landscape they live in, as these hardy, granite-fleeced beasts control the scrub that would otherwise take over the region’s heather-clad hillsides.
