But the real charm of management studies is found in the MBA subjects that are chosen. Depending on the specialisations that one chooses in the management colleges, they are required to finish various topics in the different semesters.
During the 2 year course of MBA, the students have to undergo 4 semesters of studies and exams. The different subjects that are integrated in these courses allow the students to get a grasp of various theories and aspects of management.
Some subjects like the principles of management, managing men, accounts and finances for managers, in first semester, production and marketing management, operations management, managerial economics, in second semester, marketing research, principles of sales management, advertising management, consumer behaviour in third semester and business communication, project management and business laws in final semesters, are to be compulsorily studies.
Besides these topics, the MBA syllabus allows the students to select a couple of topics from the optional list, which can be pursued depending on the specialisations that one chooses. All these topics are to be covered with diligence when the students will take MBA admissions 2012 and require a good and dedicated study, to inculcate the different managerial skills.
For most of the courses, the specialised subjects are started in the 3rd semester, by which time the students are through with the basic management topics. In the topic of HR, students will have to go through the human resource planning, industrial relations, organisational development, and organisation behaviour in the third semester. For students pursuing IT management, the topics covered in the specialisation section in the third semester would be different such as, E-commerce, IT in Business management, IT and its core concepts and issues, and development of information system.
The MBA syllabus for different universities, are not very much different from each other. The concept of the whole syllabus is to make the students aware of different theoretical aspects, while at the same time, infusing in them a sense of practical knowhow. Each university is required to formulate their courses and put it in front of the students to be aware of the MBA subjects that they would be following. This gives the students a sense of enthusiasm as they are aware of what to do during their course. This also allows the students to make an informed choice, regarding the subjects that they would be opting in their specialisation section. The variety of options regarding the specialisations is a great opportunity for the students to prepare themselves for the upcoming careers in different industries.
Unless there is a guideline that would be followed, it becomes confusing for the students about what they would be reading after the MBA admissions 2012. The courses of the MBA specialisations are designed in their respective work profile and knowledge. When students get admitted, they not only get knowledge of the business management in general, but also are exposed to the aspects of their own specialisations, in vivid detail.
