Guys lets just admit it, women accessorise much better than we do! Its fact, we're following slowly behind them when it comes to accessories and jewellery. Fashion is ever changing; trends, styles and designers are always evolving. Women grasped the importance of accessorising a few years back and its time us men played catch up.
So what's the importance of accessories? With high streets cloning other high streets, we're seeing a lot of the same outlets. Therefore a lot of guys tend to shop at the same places, leading to... yes you guessed it and you've probably experienced it, someone wearing the same as you! Whether that's your friend you've gone for a quick drink with or someone you've bumped into down the street, wearing the same piece of clothing is embarrassing and quite frankly holds no fashion originality what so ever. So the importance of accessories for men is using them to add personal touches of originality to your looks. Accessories are affordable and a decent scarf layered over that t-shirt you and your friend are both wearing makes you stand out and it adds individuality. Jewellery such as a leather necklace or a decent watch can add elegance to a look.
So what accessories are going to be popular this up and coming season? And what accessories are going to really add originality to your outfits? Well that smart and casual mix is hugely popular this season, mixing casual jeans or chinos with a smart fitted blazer and buttoned down shirt. Accessorising with a stand out tie, a coloured pocket square and a braided leather belt is going to really add to your look. Retro watches are going to become popular, with brands like Casio and Swatch bringing back the vintage feel to their products. Casual headwear such as Trilby Hats is a good investment too; a trilby automatically adds a different dimension to your style and can really bring through the ever-popular preppy trend.
Accessories are affordable so having a good variety allows you to vary your looks, and adjust your style accordingly to the event. If you're going to work or have an important business meeting, a skinny tie and pocket square can add that elegant touch. You can accessorise shorts and t-shirt with a summer scarf and straw trilby hat for a casual event such as a family BBQ. You see accessories are disregarded by a lot of men, but take a moment to work down your outfit. I bet your wearing boxers of briefs? Socks maybe? Where's your wallet or credit card holder? A belt, a scarf, a hat, a watch, a ring, a bracelet, a necklace a… I'll stop now. You get the idea, accessories are used more than we actually think, we just need to realise the importance and the best way to use them.
