We want beauty, we crave for beauty, we look for beauty. Beauty wants a few products, beauty craves for few products, beauty looks for few products! Beauty is a major issue for us humans, especially us females! What first is reflected upon is how we look like, so looking beautiful, presentable, perfect is the need of the hour. Being beautiful is, now, considered the duty of women (chuckle). And now, it’s not just women, who want to look beautiful, men are not behind! They are catching up fast!
The demand asks for supply. Writing for this article made me search for the various beauty products in the market. And I am shocked the way I am now out-of-news about these products! From beauty brands as common as L’Oreal, Chanel, Proctor and Gamble, Avon, Kaya Kalp, etc., I read about names like Alberto-Culver Co., Kao Corp., Henkel KGAA. Names I can’t even seem to pronounce well! Whoops!
Well, being a person who is scared to visit a salon, I write this piece sitting right in front of a salon. To think of a person coming out of it, today, I could not see the beauty, but the products and the equipments that must have been used. This lady with maroon head must have had an experience with Streaks or L’Oreal or cannot-think-of-the-name products. Well, to think of hair, many a times, a female enters with straight hair and leaves with a curly crops. What does she use? Hot irons? Curlers? Spa machine? Well, why is this guy coming out in jogging tracks, sweating? Oh, now I know! Beauty includes that perfect shape also. He must have been working out, or might as well be drinking that herbal tea, getting massaged, steam-sauna treatment. Ah that cute kid! This kid too visits a salon? Guess I, too, should rush to one soon if even kids do! Well, the kid already looks pretty in her shorts and t-shirt! Even a kid as small as her knows the latest trends. Let me too enter the salon.
Am I amazed! Feet massager lures me. So I opt for a pedicure, cheers! Ok, till the time I am supposed to sit idle with my feet dipped in some pedicure liquid, let’s look around. O! Did you notice how she shone her nails in just a few seconds? They call it a nail brightener! Well well, I notice an old man with tobacco-coloured teeth trying to get his set flossed. Would that give him milky white teeth! This tired-looking lady wants some rest and goes for a facial massager equipment. That’s an easy thing! All that the staff used for her was a steamer (I can as well own that. Hope it’s not expensive!) and a massager! The lady is definitely over-worked. The staff’s asking her to get her under eye treatment done too. Some cream massage for 15mins followed by cucumber slices on her eyes. This must be real soothing.
Ah well, back to me. Well, this pedicure machine is quite funny. It’s tickling my feet (chuckling already). The helper shoots me a funny look. And wow! It was done pretty quick! Cream followed by massage. Then some more cream followed by scraping. A bit more of cream and then more massage. The staff says each cream has a different purpose and also that I should get it done more often! Whatever. It’s relaxing me as of now. Dear staff, Ok if I doze off on your chair? I am sure you would make my feet look beautiful. Don’t you know my li’l secret? I have been watching people leaving your salon. They all looked so beautiful when they left.
