Palace of Catalan Music is one of the many places to visit. However, if you are planning to get into this concert hall, it is important to schedule your visit in advance, as entry to this magnificent palace requires early booking and tickets need to be taken. Besides, you will be able to enter the palace only if you get the guide provided there.
As you enter the building, you will be spellbound by its beautiful architecture and would love to move around. This is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the whole of Barcelona. Lluis Domenici i Montaner was the architect of this magnificent structure. He was the director of the Architecture school in Barcelona. The building represents the modern art form too and that is the noteworthy point. It took almost three years to complete the building and was finally completed in the year 1908.
It was constructed to serve as the institution to support the Catalan music and culture. The palace has several windows and as the sun rays pass through the beautiful stained glass paintings on the windows, you will be amazed by its beauty. The building, as such, is built with number of materials that includes glass, mosaic tiles, iron and brick. The design format found on most of the tiles and stained windows is floral.
At the front of the palace, you get to see a range of statues, carved by Miquel Bay. You will see a warrior, many children, woman of those ages and also many youth. Besides this, you also see a concert hall inside the palace which is huge and has many levels. Even the concert hall has light flowing in through the stained glass windows and makes the place truly fantastic. Other sculptures found there are horses with wings, May flowers and many more.
On the backstage, there are many sculptures, like women playing the instruments, all of which has been carved out by Eusebi Arnau. These sculptures are so done that upper part is projecting from the wall and the lower part is made of tiles. The ceiling has as many as 2000 flowers, all made of ceramic tiles. To get a complete look of the palace, you need a guide, who could explain all the details of the palace and other sculptures in it.
