There are some instrumental activities like cooking, taking medicine, caring of pets, shopping. If elder is not able to do these things, then you should provide him a personal caretaker.
It is the most known place for elders. In residential care homes elders get proper attention of caretaker and get required care. Elders who stay in these homes are known as residents of Residential Care Homes. They are not treated like patients. This is a main difference in Nursing Home and Care Home. Care home contains the residents who can do their work with little help and don’t have any serious disease. They are here because their family members don’t have time to take care of them. When resident came in these this place is new for them, but after a certain time it will like a second home for them, where they have friends, good relations and memories of good time.

People live here for years, so if you are a staff member of any Residential Care Home, then you should know how to deal with them. For their recovery you should need to take care of their daily routine and medicine. There is a common term in medical that is activities of daily living. It is common where you talk about elder care. As name shows it is all about activities done by a person in whole day. The common activities are like walking, eating, bathing. In all these activities hygiene is important.

It is an important part of health recovery. There are so many institutes and companies, which conducted study over this topic and they found that daily activity of elders needs proper attention. They included elders, person with mental disability, handicapped, person who are suffering from any serious disease in this study. They say that after this study you are able to know that what kind of person needs which kind of personal and medical care.

This study shows that 50% elders who are near to age 65 are prefer to stay in Residential Care Homes because they are not able in doing their daily routine work. There are some daily activities according to them you can know that your elder needs any support or they are able to do it their own. The activities are - eating, personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, walking. These are the fundamental activities. If they are able to do these things means they don’t need any kind of support. In other words they don’t need any Care Home.
