Make a point of switching them off when not in use, and get into the habit of unplugging them entirely. This will cut down the total amount of energy that your home or flat uses and, whilst the planet might not be able to thank you directly, if thanks are you motivation then you can be certain that your end of the month energy bills will be cut shorter, which is a different type of thanks, perhaps a more immediate one.
