During formal functions, mugs are not normally utilized; proper cups are used instead. Although there are many types of ceramic mugs made fro materials such as glass, earthenware, bone china and porcelain, ceramic mugs remain the popular choice amongst coffee and tea drinkers. Ceramic mugs come in many shapes and patterns, and are used in the home and also offices.
Ceramic mugs, although made of sturdy material, can also be broken if not handled properly. Have you ever received goods through the mail only to find out that your ceramic mugs are now broken to intelligible parts? And to your dismay, discover that they are beyond comprehensible repair?
Or perhaps, you ship out mugs and the person on the receiving end gives you that dreaded phone call, with the information that the shipment has been ruined. It can be disheartening to open a package and anticipating the contents, only to discover that its ruined beyond repair.

The point is this, when you send out mugs to be shipped, there are a few precautions that need taken so that your goods will arrive not just safely, but intact as well.
For starters, mugs should be individually wrapped in soft tissue paper. Then, wrap each ceramic-based mug with bubble warp. Using a piece of individually cut cardboard, swathe it around the mug's handle and secure with tape. This will protect the weakest part of the ceramic-based mug. Take another piece cardboard and drape firmly around the body of the mug, and again, secure with tape. Proceed with wrapping the ceramic mug with bubble wrap. As a final move, use some paper to drape over the bubble wrap and secure with tape.
Set aside and repeat process with other ceramic mugs.
This process will make though as if the individually wrapped ceramic mug is 'floating' in the box rather than direct contact. You can use more paper if you feel the ceramic-based mugs are still not well insulated. When the mugs are packed neatly into a box, they will be able to withstand rough handling, as they are protected by the bubble wrap, cardboard and paper.
In fact, you could do a test and kick one mug to test for breakage possibilities. If you ceramic mug comes out intact, then you are in business.
Ceramic mugs make such wonderful gifts, and if the receiver gets one and it is broken, chances of fixing them is possible, but it would not be the same. So do whatever is necessary to protect your mugs from getting destroyed during the shipping process.
