One of the most important annual events organized is the Rio Music Conference. It is considered to be the largest musical get-together in the southern hemisphere. The venue for the event will be Avenida Infante Dom Henrique.

Another annual event organized in Rio is the King of the beach volleyball which will take place on the Ipanema beach. Here athletes will change partners for each volleyball game, putting their individual skills to the test. The winners of the games will be awarded with the “King and Queen of the Beach” title.

The Taking of Monte Castelo, La Serra and Montese is another annual event which will be organized in Rio de Janeiro this upcoming February. The reason behind this event is for Brazil to remember the fatalities that have occurred in the Second World War campaigns by the Brazilian Expeditionary Forces at Monte Castelo, La Serra as well as Montese, in Italy. At the ceremony hosted at the National Monument, located in Rio, the country’s Unknown Soldier is honored.

In order to entertain both children and parents during the school vacation, the hall for Culture and Entertainment at Riosul (which is a shopping mall situated in Botafogo) will be presenting until the end of February, the children’s play entitled “Charlie and Lola, The Play – from the TV to the Theatre.” The play is based upon the same title wearing British animation series. The place for this event is Espaço RIOSUL Cultura e Entretenimento (no. 116, Rua Lauro Muller street, Piso G3 floor).

Until February 21st, the H.A.P. Galleria, located at Rua Abreu Fialho, 11 - Jardim Botânico, will be the home of the „Cavalaricas” exhibition by carioca artist Nelson Felix. The artist will be presenting six of his large size works which were made in Italian Carrara marble, gold and bronze.

Last but certainly not least, there will be a bundle of pre-carnival events that will be organized in Rio de Janeiro this February. During these weeks, the city will be filled with some of the outrageous parties as well as the most interesting rehearsals of groups and bands plus samba shows at Terreirao. There will also be technical rehearsals at the samba schools and final rehearsals in Passarela do Samba. These rehearsals will take place on 5, 6, 12-16 and 19-20 of the month.

All things considered, Rio de Janeiro still has plenty to offer to both its inhabitants and tourists that travel thousands of miles to come see the beauty of this city and all the interesting things that are being organized here monthly.
