The German Volkswagen Vento has occupied its position getting the better of Honda city in sales of second consecutive month. The sale of Volkswagen vento sedan bounced to 6,839 during March 2011 to April 2011 run-up as compared to Honda City who sold its 4,315 units in similar period.
Volkswagen acquired Indian mass market inevitably only in one year. It has introduced its Polo hatchback in April 2010 followed by its mid-sized sedan in August 2010 with booming objective. With the flagging efforts it has become the apple of everyone’s eye.

Volkswagen Vento become the most economic petrol-run gem in the mid-sized sedan segment with the price tag of Rs6.99 lakhs. For quality performance, old hands have equipped it with both 1.6 liter petrol and diesel power-train. These engines are being mechanized same as Europe based new Polo. The 1.6 liter petrol engine of it can generate the maximum power of 105 PS @ 5250 rpm and torque of 153 NM @ 3800 rpm. Alongside, diesel version releases its maximum output of 105 PS @ 4400 rpm with 250 Nm of torque at 1500-2500 rpm.
For better performance over roads creators of Volkswagen Vento have fitted with 5 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox Transmission System. This helps its user to have effective control over speedy drive so that accidents could get avoided. These power-train of Vento are well refined and responsive, it can reaches up to 100 km/h of speed in just 14.2 seconds with 160 km/h as of its top speed.
On the way of progression Vento has achieved numerous prestigious awards like Automobile of the year 2010 by Subros Car India, Premium Sedan of the year by Zig Wheels, Beat sedan by NDTV Car and Bike Award, Mid-Size Car of the Year again by Subros Car India, etc. These titles have shown that how much it become dearer in domestic market.
This mid-sized sedan meets its fortune by having tough competition with Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti SX4, Toyota Etios and Fiat Linea. Under the applause of its lovers, Volkswagen India reached to new level of refinement.
