Being Human is actually a British supernatural comedy drama television sequence. It was made and written by Toby Whithouse and broadcast on BBC Three. It stars Aidan Turner as Mitchell, a vampire; Russell Tovey as George, a werewolf; and Lenora Crichlow as Annie, a ghost who're all trying to reside a typical existence in Totterdown, Bristol. In the course of the show's 3rd sequence, Sinead Keenan became element on the key cast, along with the sequence relocated to Wales.
The series is among the most well-known shows on BBC’s iPlayer. The 1st episode of your 2nd series premiered on BBC 3 at 9:30pm on 10 January 2010. The third series premiered on 23rd January 2011. This sequence marks a change in the show's location, that is now Barry Island.
Danny Cohen, the controller of BBC Three, commissioned the Being Human, West 10 LDN, Mrs In-Betweeny, and Phoo Action pilots as element of the re-branding of BBC Three. The pilot episode starred Guy Flanagan as Mitchell the vampire, Andrea Riseborough as Annie the ghost, and Russell Tovey as George the werewolf, also as featuring Adrian Lester as Herrick (the vampire leader and key antagonist of Series 1) and Dominique McElligott as the recent vampire convert Lauren (converted by Mitchell). Using the exception of George, these areas were recast when the series went into full production.
The pilot episode was broadcast at 21:00 on 18 February 2008. As aspect of her evaluation with the pilot, the Reading through Chronicle's Narin Bahar began an on the web petition to lobby BBC 3 commissioning editors to greenlight a complete series, signed by more than three,000 persons.
The 1st and 2nd series had been set and filmed in Bristol featuring views of Clifton Suspension Bridge and Clifton Village. Windsor Terrace, Totterdown, Bristol was the location of Mitchell, Annie, and George's property along with the pub demonstrated in the pilot. Scenes set in the hospital exactly where Mitchell and George function were filmed in and about Bristol Common Hospital.
The third series is filmed and set in Barry (Barry Island). Some filming took location in woodland in Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, in July 2010. Sequence 3 will be broadcast January 23 2011.
On 28 March 2009, BBC Three began a two-weekend reshowing of your first series, preceded by a 60-minute documentary in regards to the sequence featuring interviews with sequence creator Toby Whithouse and actors Aidan Turner, Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow, Jason Watkins, Annabel Scholey and Sinead Keenan.
