It is a known fact that tap water is the local municipal water which contains chemicals like chlorine and contaminants like disease-causing microbes. Hence, it is not at all fit for direct consumption as the water contains risk of causing all kinds of water-borne diseases. It is possible to boil water and thus get healthy, clean drinking water in homes. However, that is not possible in public places. There is a limit to the amount of water that can be carried by you.

There is a wide variety of water filters and dispensers available in the market. They have different types of features, shapes, sizes, types and colours. The cost of the dispensers also varies according to the features that you want in them. If you are just establishing your office then it always better to go for a basic hot and cold water dispenser.
This type of dispenser can be either attached directly to the water supply or water can be supplied in the form of bottles to the dispenser. Most of the offices go for the bottled version owing to simple logistics reasons.
Safety is the main reason behind opting for hot and cold water dispenser. No employer or employee would like to risk their health with tap water for drinking purposes. The reasons are obvious- chemicals and microbial contaminants. It is true that the municipal water is released into the pipeline after adequate amount of treatments. However, from the main source to your homes the water travels a long distance and the number of contaminants that the water picks up on way is not minimal. Even though the chlorinated water is known to avoid the growth of microbes, yet chemical resistant pathogens that cause water-borne diseases are well-known. Therefore, filtered water dispensers are preferred.
Offices prefer hot and cold water dispenser because it serves two purposes. Cold water is for general drinking purposes while hot water can be used for making tea or coffee. All you need is some coffee powder or a tea bag. They can also be used for making instant soups and ready-to-eat cup noodles. This is a really handy feature. Apart from this, the hot water can also be used for making hot water bags which can be used by people in times of need.
The mechanism in hot water is that the water gets heated inside the dispenser with the help of an electrical heating coil. The arrangement is in the segment that is meant for dispensing hot water.
Some hot and cold water dispensers contain a water holding reservoir on top followed by the hot and cold reservoirs that is attached to the dispenser. Such dispensers save your money as you do not have order for a separate bottle of drinking water. You simply have to refill the reservoir as and when required.
