On the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco back in June, we were all expecting the official announcement of the Apple iPhone 5. However, Steve Jobs instead unveiled the iOS 5. This is the latest iteration to Apple's popular mobile operating system.

There are various reasons why Apple's enthusiasts are looking forward to the software upgrade. It comes with a number of features that they never had in the past. These features include the new iMessage. This is a mobile instant messaging service similar to RIM's Blackberry Messenger. Another addition is the Notification Center. This will allow you to get all of your alerts in one convenient place. Another feature people are looking forward to is Twitter integration. This will allow users to enjoy more from the micro-blogging website on the go. Another enhancement is the new Safari web browser. Aside from allowing you to enjoy more from tabbed browsing, it also comes with new features such as the Reader and the Reading list. This will allow you to enjoy more from clutter-free article reading. Last but not the least is PC-free independence. You no longer have to connect to a Mac or PC to get software updates. Updates are wirelessly coursed via Wi-Fi or your 3G network provider. With all of these new features, it is no surprise why enthusiasts are anxious to know if the iOS 5 will be pre-installed or rolled out to the highly anticipated Apple iPhone 5.

On the iOS 5's official website, the Cupertino-based tech giant announced that as number of devices would enjoy the software update. The company's popular portable media players the third generation and fourth generation iPod Touch would be enjoying the update. Popular smartphones such as the 3GS and the fourth generation iOS-powered smartphone will be getting the update. Lastly, the iOS 5 will be rolling out to the original iPad and the iPad 2.

Since latest version of Apple's mobile operating system will be rolling out to past devices, people are wondering if it will roll out to the Apple iPhone 5. Although the Cupertino firm has not officially confirmed this, we can make a calculated guess. First of all, this is a new device. It is most likely Apple's new OS will be first featured on their new flagship smartphone. Secondly, why would this new flagship get an outdated version of the software when past devices are officially getting the update? Will the Apple iPhone 5 get the iOS 5? It is most likely that it will.
