If someone says they’ll be switching their air conditioner on this winter, treat them with the respect that they deserve.

They are to some extent, but if you want to benefit from total cooling power this summer, you’d be much better off using an air conditioner. Fans simply blow in your face, they waft warm air around; they don’t acclimatise the air that is around you. Switch on an air conditioner and it helps you to feel fresh, unaware of the temperature outside. Stay cool this year using an air conditioner. Models are available that can be fitted at home, in your office, or other place of work. Buy a combination air conditioner that has a heat pump built into it and you can stay warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and only have to shell out for one machine.
