The problem of back acne remains even though many tend to believe that it is not as severe as acne on the face. That is because of the location - the back, which is covered at most times by clothing. Back acne can include any type of acne, including whiteheads and blackheads, pustules (the surface type), papules (a bit deeper) or the acne can form deep in the skin and cause acne cysts. While a back acne body remedy treatment is the same as a facial acne, the back is more complicated since it's larger and is not within reach easily.

When you hear the word "acne," most people picture blackheads, pimples, and pustules on the face. But acne doesn't stop at the jaw line. In fact, the greatest concentrations of sebaceous glands are found not only on the face, but also on the chest, back, and upper outer arms, too. As with all acne, back acne is caused by bacterial infection under the skin, namely from the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. It is these bacteria that are the causes of back acne. These bacteria cause redness and irritation (inflammation). The skin on the back is thick and tough, and it contains larger sebaceous glands thus it produces more sebum. The back therefore has higher possibility of developing more severe skin lesions than in the face or neck.

Back acne treatment, as already highlighted comes in two folds; mild and acute. First of all, the mild back acne can be brought under control by simply showering as often as possible, using salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide spot treatment on sufferers especially at night and washing daily with a salicylic-acid-based cleanser. Another thing that makes back acne different than other forms of acne is that what you eat doesn't appear to have as much of an affect on acne development on this region of the body as it does in the case of facial acne. Some people even disregard acne on their backs because it is hard to observe.

Acne condition will get worse if you are wearing rough material on your back as you risk irritating the acne and making it worse. The three popular form of back acne: mild, moderate or severe. It is important to note that this will not in any way cure the disorder. This is a good way to maintain a healthy body, which will in turn help you manage back acne. In general you can alleviate the condition somewhat by not wearing tight clothing, make sure your clothes are clean and more loose fitting.

Back acne tends to increase during the warmer weather when you are more likely to sweat. Although it may not be feasible for you to run around with your shirt off, you can wear clothing that is not restrictive and allows for plenty of movement. A dermatologist can help you with the diagnosis and treatment of back acne. First your doctor will tell you how bad of a case you have, such as mild, moderate, or severe.
