Blackberry Bold 9900 is one of the best handsets that we have seen from RIM. This touchscreen cum qwerty keyboard device comes packed with fabulous features. So how does handset performs when compared to the best selling smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S2?

In an attempt to offer the feature-rich handsets to the users, Blackberry has come out with a number of new handsets in the market. There are as many as 7 handsets that have been released by the company in the month of August. This is also expected to help the company to arrest the dip in the sales that the company has witnessed lately.
Blackberry Bold 9900 is widely considered as the best handset among all the new launches. With a number of improved features, the handset has been receiving favourable reviews from all the quarters. Agreed, that it is a good handset but how does it perform when compared to be one of the best selling handsets in the market, Samsung Galaxy S2? We have compared them on three criteria, design, screen and the storage. Let’s take a look.
1) In terms of the design, both are very different devices. The Blackberry device prides itself on the qwerty keyboard whereas the Samsung’s flagship device doesn’t have any physical keyboard. The Blackberry phone has a good build-quality, but in terms of look and style, our vote goes to the Samsung phone which looks modern and is arguably the best looking handset in the market. Moreover, it is much thinner and lighter than most other phones including Bold 9900 in the market.
2) Coming to the screen, both the devices provide an excellent display. But the Samsung phone scores on two major points. These are higher screen resolution and a bigger screen size. The bigger screen gives more choices to the users when it comes to the media and the internet functions. It is so much easier to read text on the screen. However, on the negative side, the users may find it a little inconvenient to carry the handset.
3) If we compare them on the storage, once again we find the Samsung device taking the lead. Not only does it have 1 GB RAM but also provide an internal storage space of 16/ 32 GB. In comparison, the Blackberry Bold 9900 has 768 MB RAM and internal storage space of 8GB.
Blackberry Bold 9900 is not a bad device a bad device by any means but here it just met a hard competitor. However, the fact remains that Blackberry has some distinct features that cannot be found in any other handset in the market. And that makes Blackberry Bold 9900 an excellent device.
