* These boxes are highly customizable. You can have a supplier produce them as per your preferred dimensions, strength, etc. Graphics may even be printed.
* As a packaging material, cardboard boxes are relatively inexpensive.
When Carton Boxes are not enough
It is not always that you are shipping canned goods, powdered milk, or other items that are not fragile. What if you are dealing with highly sensitive electronic components that are not resilient or glassware, which are very delicate? There was a time when paper and cardboard combinations were used in order to provide the extra protection. But lately, bubble wraps are utilized because of the better protection they afford.
Bubble wraps were initially commissioned as additional packaging protection for IBM computers. These are the plastic sheets with protruding air bubbles. The size of the bubbles and the thickness of the plastic depend on the application, with bigger bubbles and thicker sheets used for heavier load. Oftentimes, this material is used in conjunction with carton boxes.
For household use, carton boxes, bubble wrap, and packaging tape are adequate for most transport and storage applications. And since the first two items are reusable (up to a certain extent), this packaging mode is cost-efficient. It will probably take some time before someone can come up with a better household packaging alternative.
