The Mayan calendar may have suggested that 2012 is when the world will come to an end. But that in no way can deter our sprites for celebration. With so many festivals and events in store, what we need to concentrate on is how to celebrate all the festivities and enjoy the most amongst the celebrations.

One of the most celebrated days in the world is the Valentine's Day. Why not try to make Valentine's Day 2012 the most remembered one with your partner. Plan a cruise, take a trip to some romantic place or if not that, at least a nice dinner at an exquisite restaurant. All these will add charm to the Valentine’s Day. It is a day to celebrate and profess your love to the one you love. Flowers, Hearts, The Colour Red, cupid with wings and his arrows; all these are symbols which are rampantly seen during the first week of February as celebrations begin and people start getting prepared. You will find couples, young and old alike, flocking the market for buying flowers, gifts, soft toys, chocolates, jewellery etc. as gifts. Personalized gifts are a very in thing these days and show how much effort you have put in, to decide a gift. That makes your partner feel special. So, personalized gifts are a good idea for gifts. One thing a guy must remember is, you must gift your girl flowers on the 14th of February. Nothing is as pleasant as flowers. A bunch of her favourite flowers will put a smile on her as nothing else can. If you do not know her favourite flowers, red roses can always perform the magic.

Worldwide, the day Jesus Christ resurrected from death, as per the Christian bible. This is one of the central festivals of Christianity. It is the most pious and awaited festival, apart from Christmas which brings in the world together. Christians all over the world celebrate Easter with the same spirit and fervour. Easter also is the end of the forty day fast, Lent, where Christians choose to fast, pray and pay for their penance. The date for Easter is not fixed, however the day is always fixed. Easter is always celebrated on a Sunday. April 8th, the Sunday is Easter day, 2012.

The most important day in the Chinese calendar, well, is the Chinese New Year. 2012 is the year of dragon according to the Chinese calendar. Chinese New Year is the most celebrated festival amongst Chinese people. Clothes worn are red, poems are written on red paper, and red envelopes containing "Lucky Money" is given off to children on this auspicious occasion. The celebration of the Chinese New Year is marked by fireworks, lanterns and the colour red, and is pompous and large scale
April 13th is a very energetic day in Punjab. Reason? Lohri. Lohri is one of the festivals of Punjab, which is celebrated in the same way their lives are lived i.e. in a very loud and energetic and fun filled, happy hearted manner.
