The memoir was plain but enchanting. It described a youthful couple living with their 3 younger boys in southern California within the late 1940s. From Flower Rock I learned what Lafe ate for lunch, when he went to mattress, and that he nicknamed his sons Chiqui, Tanto, and Bobi.
