Colors impose a specific character on a room décor thus play pivotal role in creating a colorful surrounding. Display of decorative arrangements of fabrics play a significant role in creating color impact in a room rather for the complete home decoration. The use of fabric in home decoration is not a new designer plan; it is an age-old idea but modern trend of home decoration allows and indulges mix and match of different types of fabrics for creating a new dimension of home decoration. Upholstery is one of the major items, which is made of fabrics and in a modern home decoration not only organza is used as upholstery fabric but very often organza is being punched with stretch fabric for creating special effect in home decoration.
Conventionally organza is used for making room upholstery but while silk fabric is mixed, it creates a better impact on the draping and frilly structures like arch window curtain, portico curtain etc. The mixture of silk fabric and organza are now in hot trend as interior designer fabric and ready made upholstery are available in different departmental stores which also can be tried for home decoration.
Stretch fabrics are called hospitality fabric because stretch fabrics are often used for sofa covers cushions and dinning chair covers. Excellent durability, easy wash texture, and varied color option are the reasons for wide use of this specific fabric type for furniture cover and cushion covers. In modern home decorating concept, stretch fabric is often stitched with silk; while stretchable fabric is used for the major portion of the cover, silk is often added to the main part as frilly border or for draping effect which adds a casual but romantic ambience on the decorative items. These kind of mixed upholsteries are best used in bedroom and guest room where the intensity of use is not very heavy and traffic movement is lesser than the most used parts of interior covered areas.
From the aspect of making attire and dress materials, silk fabric is often considered as bridal fabric because most of the bridal outfits are made of silk. However, silk can be successfully used in making good quality curtains with bigger length and with enough frills around the design of the same. The use of silk material in home decoration is considered when the home owner plans to project a gorgeous but soft and stylish conventional look of room decor. However maintenance of silk curtain and upholstery is slightly delicate therefore silk made interior decoration is delicate to handle.
Unlike old concept of home decoration and decorative material there is nothing nowadays in the hands of interior designer which we may call specifically interior designer fabric. The true tone of a home decoration is now planned on mix and match between different fabrics and fusion of different materials on one point. The symmetry of color or supportive color of theme is now the special tone of home decoration and thus all sort of fabrics are used in modern home decoration at random frequency. Homeowners are nowadays not confined in the conventional way of designing home décor, it is expected that creativity, durability, and symmetry should be the main element decoration and allied interior arrangement.
