India, a mesmerizing land, simply bamboozles tourists. The country is known for historic monuments, charming beaches, tranquil temples and beautiful festivals. The diversity of the country is manifest in the snow clad mountains and the rough deserts.
The country teems with metropolises and villages. The capital, Delhi is a multi-cultural city. It is well connected by road, rail and air. Delhi has many monuments and scenic attractions. The city is home to people of different religions and castes. The people celebrate many festivals like Deepawali, Eid and Holi. However, migrations from other parts of the country ensured that the city has retained a multi-dimensional culture.
Monuments like the Red Fort and Qutub Minar are fine examples of Islamic architecture. These were built by the Muslim rulers of Delhi. There are many nostalgic places abundant in the city. The Delhi Zoo is one of the remaining green areas of the region. It has various African and Asian species. One can also sight the elusive white tiger here. Further, lions, giraffes and Himalayan bears are the chief attractions. Rhinos and deer also draw large crowds.
The city is famous for its cuisine. Non vegetarian food such as kebabs, biryanis and chicken are the highlights of Old Delhi. However, due to various cultures one can savor South Indian food like idli, dosa, sambhar, etc. North Indian food includes rice, roti and dal.
The city enjoys its events and the Republic Day Parade is a huge hit. Auto expo and annual international trade fair are held at Pragati Maidan. Numerous art galleries and museums showcase the growth of the city. A good transport system is an added advantage. The metro covers most parts of the city and has been extended to the satellite towns as well.
Travel to India and have a feel of the stunning atmosphere. The country has skyscrapers and software-supreme cities. On the other hand, sprawling slums and poverty greet the visitor. The climate is also diverse. Chilling winters are the highlight of the northern segment whereas Central and South India witness extreme heat during summers.
However, the country teems with scenic spots. The unparalleled natural beauty, hill stations, beach resorts and wildlife reserves are highlights of this land. Many airlines offer regular flights to India. Take a tour of this beautiful land and blend in the surroundings.
