There are many different types of IR heaters which are powered by electricity. Each of these heaters provides certain type heating which is required in different places. Many of you would be familiar with the heat lamps. These are the type of electric infrared heaters which are used in bathrooms and showers to warm bathers. These are also used in places where food is kept to display and serve. These heaters keep the food warm enough. Many of this type of heaters have a red filter attached in front of them. This is done to reduce the amount of visible light.
Another type of heater is known as the ceramic infrared heating system. This is quite a versatile type of electric infrared heater. Basically it has no specific purpose; but one could say that these are used in places where long waved IR radiations are required. The wave length of these heaters varies from 2 to 10 microns. Mostly these are used in places where animals are kept.
Apart from an electric infrared heater, fuel powered heaters are also in quite some demand. There are basically two types of gas fired infrared heaters. Both of these are used on an industrial level. The two types are; luminous of high intensity and radiant tube heaters. Radiant tube heaters are used on an industrial level as well as on a commercial level. This heater basically involves the burning of propane or natural gas to heat the steel which is used to emit infrared radiations.
