Team building activities promote cohesive employee relationships and a team player philosophy in the workplace. When team building exercises are entertaining and creative, they are more effective. Think of ideas to get the team away from the office to increase the exercise's effectiveness.

One idea is to hire a company to conduct team building exercises at a hotel. But, this appears to me to be just like regular employment, not the life altering bonding occasion you had been yearning for.

Bowling can be a great way to create a fun corporate bonding experience, if you have one of those new upscale bowling alleys in your area. But if the facility is a tired, dank throwback to the fifties, it may provide inspiration for the employees to bond to form a revolution, which is not the sort of team building you're looking for.

Think about holding a cooking competition with chef outfits and delicious food. The competition would be much like the popular "Iron Chef" series and would enlist the help of professional chefs to head team members in creative ways that would cultivate bonding and unity. Competing teams would fix multi-course meals utilizing the secret ingredient of the day, to fight for the cook-off championship’s title.

Every member will employ their current skill sets like originality, organization, and awareness of details while discovering new culinary skills and having some fun too. Participants need not have any previous cooking experience. Every contestant helps as much as they feel comfortable helping, but the objective is to support a cooperative endeavor to come up with the best tasting cuisine.

The company running this competitive cooking team building brings the food, the cooks, non-alcoholic beverages, and the equipment; best of all, they will also take care of all clean-up afterward. All you offer are enough employees for two or more willing teams to have a great time discovering novel cooking abilities, building relationships with co-workers, and feasting on the outcome of their efforts.

Events like this commonly take about three hours. Following the rush of action during food preparation, the teams sit down to take a break and relish the results of their hard work: the appetizer, entrée courses, and sinful desserts.

Arrange to have someone be the photographer to provide evidence of the team's actions. Documenting the event will later allow the teams to share their experiences with one another, creating a lasting record of amusement and goodwill long after the "chefs" have hung up their aprons. Have fun!
