Fujifilm has introduced the Fujifilm FinePix F500 and F600 models, as part of the dozen compact digital cameras that were announced in India, way back in April. The FinePix F500EXR and F600EXR models feature a 16MP EXR CMOS sensor with back-side illumination, that is expected to produce sharper and more colourful images compared to the conventional CMOS sensors under varied lighting conditions.
The F500EXR will also feature: full 1080p HD video recording capability, 15x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD monitor, a rich set of electronic assist features like face detection and recognition, dog/cat detection, multi-frame composition, motion panorama 360 mode, and a variety of preset shooting modes, such as Velvia (vivid) and Astia (soft).
While the global version of the F500EXR is available in multiple colours - paprika red, champagne gold, electric blue and classic white, its Indian version will initially come in Classic Black version only. The other colour schemes for the Indian version are expected to be released later, while its Indian price is set at Rs. 18,999.
Meanwhile, Fujifilm has introduced the FinePix F600EXR globally at a slightly higher price than the F500EXR. The camera is expected to hit the Indian shelves by October at a price tag of Rs. 19,998. The F600EXR will substitute the F550EXR by including more features than it, while still retaining the same slim form factor and the 16MP EXR CMOS sensor from the F500EXR.
The other value added features of the Fujifilm Finepix F600 EXR include integrated GPS and navigation system, 15x wide-angle optical zoom with Intelligent Zoom function for improved digital contrast and image clarity. The EXR CMOS sensor is built with EXR AUTO feature, that is focused at reducing motion blur due to handshake even in low-light conditions. This feature apparently comes with three priority modes - high resolution, dynamic range, and signal to noise.
Fujifilm Unveils S3300 Super
Fujifilm has introduced the Fujifilm FinePix S3300 to the Indian market, which is the latest entrant into their S series of FinePix digital cameras. A 26X optical zoom lens with CCD Shift Image stabilization is its unique selling point. It includes a 14MP CCD image sensor which also adds the benefit of shooting extreme close-range shots, with the use of the 24mm ultra-wide angle Fujinon lens. The subjects may be placed as close as 2cm from the lens and still capture a perfect shot. It supports ultra-high sensitivity up to ISO6400, which enables shooting crisp and clear images even in low-light conditions. In addition, it can record 720p HD videos and view them on the HDTV by connecting through the HDMI cable.
Fujifilm FinePix S3300 includes a 3-inch display with EVF (Electronic View Finder) technology which comes in handy for outdoor shooting under direct sunlight. It is focused at the adventurous and professional photographers by providing Smile&Shoot, Face Detection and Blink Detection special functions. Speaking on this special occasion, Fujifilm MD, Mr. K. Tanaka hinted that the S3300 is meant to bridge the gap between the point and shoot cameras and the high end DSLR. Fujifilm is attempting to provide an affordable platform to capture high-quality snapshots without complicating the user interface and controls.
