Gurgaon is an ancient city situated next to the capital of India, Delhi. Its origin can be traced back to the times of epic Mahabharata. It is said that Gurgaon was donated to Guru Dronacharya by Pandavas. It is from his name that this city got its name. Guru + Gram i. e ‘village of Guru’. Now the city is the host to a multitude of MNCs having their corporate offices here.

Now the city is the host to a multitude of MNCs having their corporate offices here. In the last ten years, many corporate have established themselves bringing a vast number of corporate executives, who have made Gurgaon their home.
With the coming of these people with spending power and most importantly the will to spend, the entertainment scenario of Gurgaon has completely undergone a major change. Ten years back, in the name of entertainment, there were three or four film halls, no malls, some local eating joints and no cultural entertainment. Now we can see a multitude of cinema halls, multiplexes, pubs, bars, malls, amusement parks and world class eating joints sprouting all over the city.
Nightlife in Gurgaon has also changed drastically with this changing scenario. Few years back, Gurgaon nightlife was nil. There was no night clubs and pub hoping public used to go to Delhi for some nightlife enjoyment. Then came ‘Fireball’ at 32nd Milestone motel. This club can be said to be the start of nightlife in the city. After that there was sprouting of many discotheques and night clubs.
It is not that Entertainment in Gurgaon is only for adults or working professionals, the city offers entertainment to kids and children also. Many amusement parks such as ‘Aapno Ghar’, water parks has opened to cater the needs of children. These theme based parks offer enjoyment in the form of different rides, swings, animal rides, water plays and much more to the young ones.
For ladies, Gurgaon is one of the best places to stay, as it offers all kinds of amenities and entertainment to fulfil all their wishes. With so many malls present to satisfy their shopping needs; they can shop for virtually anything in these malls. From the latest in fashion to traditional handicrafts; everything is available.
After a hectic day, young people can go to bars and pubs to relax and quench their thirst with a peg or two. These bars and pubs can compete with the best in the world for their ambience and services. And what to say about restaurants and eating places? Almost all major players have opened their branches in Gurgaon. TGIF, Ruby’s Friday, Kentucky fried Chicken, Dominos and traditional Indian houses such as Haldiram, Bikaner Wala and Pind Baluchi, all have the presence in the city.
For culture lovers, Gurgaon offers live shows in centres such as Epicentre, where you can watch cultural shows, live performances and live theatre.
