Thinking that you'll learn a few tricks and will dominate in WoW is putting yourself in a position when you most likely will not succeed. World of Warcraft offers three different ways to level. Number one is doing quests. Next is by doing instances. Making a first step is choose the right strategy for leveling. Every level has a different strategy.
Good leveling strateg when you have not reached level 30 is doing quests. You will get significant experience and will get some great items by doing so. You should continue on doing so until you get to level 30. Remember, that untill you reach level 30 you should concentrate on quests and them alone. Don't miss instance quests, they will give you much more experience points. When you have a low level character, focus on doing a quest and get someone from guild to help you "train" you through the instance. You will not be getting much of experience, but you sure will get XP for several quests in the instance and will possible receive great items for completing those quests. After level 30 till about level 60 you should start mixing quests and instances. Sure the great way is to do your instance quests for huge amount of experience and wonderful rewards. After about level 30 you may sure get a group of 5 same level players, who will help you completing quests in instances. When you're low level, monster killing will not give you much XP, so don't waste your time going to instances, if you don't have any quests there. Instances can be misleading, so go there only to complete your quests.
Once you reach level 60 you start using automatic random instance sign-up. If you're playing tank or healing class, this will help you get to the instances faster. Do quests while you wait for instance. Don't waste time by killing random mobs - go to instances, as it will result in much higher XP/hr. On the day-to-day basis you should concentrate on random instances, doing quests while you're waiting. Instances on higher levels do, in fact, bring you more XP per hour of game play then plain quest. Do you have a feeling that this information is just too general and vague.
