As per their announcement on 15th November, 2012, Google claims that its Gmail service has achieved the fleet of having four hundred and twenty-five million monthly active users. Evidently, it has become the largest email services in the world blowing past Hotmail for the first time ever. Research has shown that as much as 50% web user, are very pleased with the efficient gmail customer service. The customer services are built by a team of professional who are highly competent in addressing gmail problems at the drop of a hat.
Microsoft’s Hotmail has been the number one amongst the global email services for years. Nobody other than Gmail has accomplished the overwhelming positions of being the top email service after Hotmail. In the month of July, Microsoft claimed that it has nothing less than 300million unique Hotmail users. Clearly, it was the No.1 mail service at that time, but inevitably it has seen customers defect to both Gmail and Hotmail. And finally instead of keeping-up-with-the-Joneses, Google’s one of the smaller services has succeeded in catching up its older rivals.
The growth of the Gmail services has been remarkable and stunning. In the month of January, Gmail announced that in an earnings call that it has no less than 300 million monthly active Gmail users. This data was completely based on its internal research. However, today, the number of users stands up to 425 million. But the data is still not confirmed by a third party and is completely based on its internal data.
Web analytics companies, on the other end, claimed that one of the main reasons for the success of Google’s small services was simple gmail account setup. However, they also claimed that Gmail has very few unique visitors and still competes head-to-head with Yahoo and Hotmail.
Many independent survey companies pledged to contact the representatives from Microsoft, Yahoo, and Google and find out the perfect statistics to emphasize their claims. However, these companies later announced that the response from each company was somewhat frustrating.
The Vice president of the company told to a famous news channel that the research data was completely based on global unique visitors predominantly from the “home and business use”. Nevertheless, the left outs have been recognized and Gmail still stands at No.1 being the most visited email website ever.
Both Gmail and Microsoft have been unable to provide more specific data about their total email visitors. Their internal numbers have shown a discrepancy of more than fifty million users. However, comparison of Gmail’s “internal numbers” to the Microsoft’s internal data may be unfair, but evidently these are the numbers, which the two companies stand by. Henceforth, these are the numbers, which stand as the only proof of Gmail’s No.1 standing as the top e-mail client in all lands. Hence, until either one of Microsoft or Yahoo succeeds to cough up better stats, Gmail is certainly going to be the King of the odds. All Hail Gmail!
